Princeton Gold and Silver is located in Princeton, NJ. We are a precious metals and jewelry buyer, built on 30 years of hands-on experience buying and selling gold, silver, coins, diamonds, fine jewelry, antiques, watches, and collectibles.
Meet the owner
When he was 19, he walked into the old jewelry shop near his house — the kind of place you'd easily miss if you weren't looking for it. Behind the counter was a watchmaker who owned the shop. Watchmaking is a craft that was already rare then and has nearly disappeared now.
Something about the place, and the man, made him stay. He started stopping by nearly every day to learn from the watchmaker who taught him everything there is to know about watches. The different makers, the different types of watches, how a watch actually works, the mechanisms and movements hidden beneath the face, how to tell a fine timepiece from an ordinary one, and eventually, how to fix them himself.
There was no shortcut to any of it. There was very little real information available on the internet about this industry. Learning meant sitting with the watchmaker himself, lesson after lesson, and reading real books cover to cover. It was a real education, earned the slow way.
That apprenticeship in a nearly lost trade became the foundation for everything that followed.
Over the next 30 years, it grew into a career buying and selling precious metals, coins, diamonds, fine jewelry, antiques, watches, and collectibles.
That love of watches — and of the man who introduced him to the craft — still burns bright today. It's the foundation Princeton Gold and Silver is built on, and it's part of the care and expertise behind every piece we evaluate, from a family heirloom to a rare estate find.
We opened our doors at 344 Nassau Street in Princeton NJ to bring that passion and experience directly to our community.
